Bibliometro – Reading promotion (on the) underground in Madrid

In Madrid, a simple but nonetheless effective means of promoting reading has existed since 2005: Bibliometro. This is a small library that is situated where thousands of commuters in Madrid spend their time, that is in the underground stations. The municipality of Madrid co-operates with the public libraries and thus intends to bring the world of books closer to the citizens’ spheres of life.
